International academic cooperation meetings in Albania from MAKÜ

Joint diploma meeting with Tirana Agricultural University

The delegation, which included MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Gürsoy, met with Tirana Agricultural University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatbardh Sallaku. The meeting focused on a productive exchange of ideas regarding joint diploma programs and academic collaborations, particularly in the field of veterinary medicine.

Meeting on student mobility with the Deputy Minister of National Education

The delegation also held discussions with Prof. Dr. Ana Kapaj, the Deputy Minister of National Education responsible for Higher Education in Albania. The meeting addressed the mutual academic mobility opportunities for Albanian students who will study at MAKÜ.

Coordination with TİKA, Tirana Education Consultancy, and MÜSİAD

During the visit, discussions were held with Tirana Education Consultant Dr. Metin Bulut, TİKA Tirana Coordinator Mustafa Ata, and MÜSİAD Albania Representative Muhammet İşler regarding collaboration opportunities to support the hosting of Albanian students at the university, as well as accommodation and educational processes.

Joint projects in the field of sports

The MAKÜ delegation also held a meeting with Endrit Hoxha, the Deputy Minister of Education and Sports responsible for Sports in Albania, and his accompanying delegation. Two main topics emerged during the meeting:

- Albanian high school students in sports receiving education at MAKÜ Faculty of Sports Sciences,

- Collaboration opportunities for Albanian sports clubs to train at the MAKÜ campus.

Both parties agreed to take joint steps in these areas. Rector Dalgar thanked Deputy Minister Hoxha for their hospitality.

Exchange of ideas on sports tourism with Tirana Sports University

Another important stop during the visits was Tirana Sports University. In a meeting with Tirana Sports University Rector Prof. Dr. Agron Kasa, MAKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar exchanged views on academic cooperation, student exchange, and sports tourism projects that could be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports.

Rector Dalgar stated that the meeting was very productive and thanked the Albanian side for their interest in the university and Turkey.

Visit to Tirana New York University

The MAKÜ delegation visited Prof. Dr. Ali Güneş, the Rector of Tirana New York University, an important representative of the Maarif Foundation in Albania, and reached a consensus on working together to establish a joint research center in the name of 'Mehmet Akif Ersoy', in addition to academic cooperation topics between the two universities.

Rector Dalgar's thank you message to the Albania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Rector Dalgar emphasized that these contacts are important not only academically but also in terms of establishing cultural and social ties, stating:

“We are determined to take the necessary strategic steps to ensure that these international ties we have established through the language of science and friendship turn into permanent and multifaceted collaborations in the future. Additionally, I would like to especially thank the valuable management of the Albania-Turkey Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their hospitality and support during all these visits.” 

MAKÜ continues its efforts to build a future shaped by knowledge by establishing effective academic collaborations on an international scale.
